Getting married is a huge moment as it symbolises the start of the rest of your life together. The buzz from the big day might last for a while, and when your wedding photos arrive you can bask in the bliss all over again. However, for one newly-wedded couple, looking back at the pictures brought anything but joy and happiness.

The husband in question was baffled when he noticed someone important missing from the wedding photos, and confronted his wife about it. She admitted that she had edited out his son, who was heavily involved in the day, out of the wedding photos, because she wanted the day to be about the "two of them".

Venting in a post on Reddit, the anonymous man explained that his 12-year-old son (from a previous marriage) and his new wife "adored and embraced him instantly". He added: "I 100% knew that my wife loved and got along with him, otherwise we wouldn't have got married".

However, his feelings changed after they got the wedding photos back. Speaking about their wedding, he explained: "There were no issues whatsoever, except that I found out that she [his wife] had cut/edited out my son from the majority of our wedding photos.

"At first I was in a state of shock and really couldn't believe it was her and thought it was the idiot photographer who did this but he told me he did this based on her wishes and made her more copies as well. I couldn't hold it and I blew up on her and asked what this was about.

"She calmly explained that the reason she did this was because she wanted some photos to be just about us two which was bull**** because there were still family members that weren't cut out of the photos."

According to the furious husband, his new wife told him he was overreacting when he confronted her about it on their honeymoon. He continued: "I lost my temper because it felt like she was excluding him and the argument escalated."

The wife, who said she did also keep the original photos, threatened to call his son to prove "he doesn't really care" about not being in the photos, but he told her not to "get him involved" - but then she tried to call her mum. In the post, he continued: "My mother-in-law said that my wife didn't mean it and I should know that as a bride she must've felt overwhelmed so I should be easy on her."

However, the damage had been done, and the man decided to cancel the rest of the honeymoon and go home. He added: "She hasn't stopped crying about it saying I'm being awful and that I keep forgetting everything she's done for my son so far..."

The post divided opinions, with one person writing: "It sounds like maybe he was in every photo, if that is the case then I can see why his wife edited some. She said she wanted some of just them, don't forget wife kept the unedited originals as well, so it's not like she had them tossed/deleted."

However, another said: "FFS It's his SON. Not a cousin or friend, his son. Also why would she cut ONLY him out of the photos. THAT is what worries me. If she had done it to other people I'd buy her story but she didn't. I don't think she cares for the boy the way OP [original poster] thought. You don't cut out people you love, full stop."
