Ryan Reynolds message to Tom Brady after Birmingham City investment sums him up
Wrexham co-chairman Ryan Reynolds has issued a warm welcome to Tom Brady after the NFL legend became a part-owner of Birmingham City.
The Hollywood star has owned the North Wales outfit since 2020 and has helped to transform the club's fortunes in that time, alongside fellow A-Lister Rob McElhenney. The famous pair have managed to combine their star power with a genuine hands-on approach to bring the team to a worldwide audience.
The TV series "Welcome to Wrexham" has won the Red Dragons a cult following across various continents and their National League championship triumph last term was the realisation of a dream that stretched back some 15 years. In short, the actor duo have shown themselves to be effective and committed custodians at the Racecourse Ground.
Even so, Hollywood megastar Reynolds remained humble as he heralded the arrival of seven-time Super Bowl victor Brady as a stakeholder at St Andrew's. The iconic retired quarterback is best associated with the New England Patriots, where he won six Super Bowls during a golden era, but the Second City club will now become his new passion project.
Speaking to Sky Sports prior to newly-promoted Wrexham's first fixture of the season, Reynolds said: "I know Tom [Brady] a little bit and I don't think you need to know him to know he has the spirit of a lion and a competitor in every way, shape and form. Whatever he has cooked up for Birmingham, he is going to bring it.

Stating his admiration for Brady, he added: "Come on in, the water is warm! I would never give Tom Brady words of wisdom over professional sports. But Tom, if you have any advice for us, you could send it our way!'"
After finally bowing out from the NFL after one of the most glittering careers in the history of the sport last year, the 46-year-old has taken on a variety of business interests. His fifth involvement with a sports team, he will take his place as the chair of the club's advisory board, as a minority investor.

In a statement, he told supporters: "Birmingham City is an iconic club with so much history and passion, and to be part of the Blues is a real honour for me.
"BCFC is built on teamwork and determination and I'm excited to work alongside the board, management and players to make our Second City club second to none. I've been part of some amazing teams in my day, and I'm looking forward to applying my perspective to create that same success here in Birmingham."
The former Premier League outfit have fallen on more difficult times in the past decade and have played in the second tier since their relegation in 2011. They finished in 17th place in the Championship last term and Shelby Companies Ltd completed their takeover of the club in July.
