Nate Diaz kicks Jake Paul as pair get physical in final weigh-in face-off
Nate Diaz threw a kick at Jake Paul as the pair's final weigh-in face-off got physical in Dallas a day out from the pair's boxing fight.
The UFC legend has been subdued throughout the months-long build-up to his ring debut against the social media star, but has sprung to life in the final two days of the promotion. And with fellow MMA icon Chael Sonnen standing between them Diaz and Paul almost came to blows as they completed their final obligation of fight week.
Paul came to the scales first at both the commission weigh-ins and the ceremonial ones, using the towel to get down to 185lb on the button. Despite having previously fought as low as 155lb in his UFC heyday, Diaz also needed to strip down in order to make an official weight of 184.9lb before the pair met at the American Airlines Center later in the afternoon.
Speaking with Ariel Helwani after the final face-off, Diaz said: "Shout out to everybody for the love and support, I appreciate everybody coming out and the love. And no matter how the fight goes let's not forget; this motherf***er can't really fight motherf***er. F*** you!"
Paul came prepared with lines of his own, walking out to music he had recorded himself that is as yet unreleased before making his way to the scales. "They've been saying Nate's tough," Paul declared, before mocking the booing crowd and branding them as "virgins".

During the early weigh-ins, there was some confusion during the opening stages of the weigh-in as the official scale had to be changed because it was registering fighters a few pounds underweight. Paul first appeared on the scale around 25 minutes into the weigh-in as he checked his weight but didn't officially step on the scale.
There had been a relaxed atmosphere around the pre-fight events in Dallas, but that changed on Wednesday at the pre-fight press conference as members of Paul and Diaz's security crews started brawling onstage. The fighters watched on from a distance as their respective teams couldn't keep their hands to themselves and got violent, causing both men to be escorted off of the stage.
