'My neighbour walks around naked all day - it's impossible to avoid looking'
Whatever you do in the privacy of your own home is your own business, but if neighbours have a clear view into your house, you might want to be careful of what you do too close to the windows. One woman was left wondering what to do about her neighbour who clearly doesn't value their own privacy.
The red-faced resident explained that her neighbour is always walking around naked in their property - but the problem is that their flats are very close, and they have floor to ceiling windows. Explaining to fellow Mumsnet users, the woman that the neighbour was naked in their "home at all times, and can be seen very clearly from the road and three neighbouring properties through three huge windows (almost floor to ceiling) which have no curtains)".
She explained: "The neighbour performs an activity/hobby in front of these windows for long periods of time, morning moon and evening, often with the windows open and the lights on after dark. Our properties are pretty close and it's impossible to avoid seeing our neighbour."
One of the reasons that the women was bothered by the neighbour is that she has children. The neighbour also lives in a block of flats, so she wouldn't know how to contact them. She added: "I have absolutely no idea what to do. We can't block the view other than by pulling our curtains but it's a big depressing to never have daylight in kitchen, sitting room, master bedroom."
The woman asked for advice on the matter, and added: "I don't think I have any right to object to what someone does in their own home so other than keeping curtains closed or moving house, so I'm not sure what advice I'm hoping for."
'I don't want children staying up late at weekends - I really need adult time'
Helpful people flocked to the comment section to offer advice, with many suggesting she install net curtains, or a privacy film window. One commenter said: "Can you obscure your windows with a window cling? We did this and it lets light in, but you wouldn't be able to see out, unless you only obscured the lower half of the window."
Another suggested: "Put a sign up in your window saying 'do you realise we can see you butt naked and it's not pleasant' is something similar."
