Hundreds of luxury beauty fans queued up from 6am on September 28 outside the London branch of Liberty to get their hands on the tenth annual beauty advent calendar as it went on sale. After a decade, the fanfare has yet to die down, with thousands sold ahead of launch with the first ever pre-sale for Beauty Drop members.
Over one hundred thousand people signed-up to the waitlist, while those in the queue had to wait until 9.30am for the retailer to open it's doors. However, there is a way to beat the queues - but you'll have to move quickly to bag one of the coveted calendars.
The Liberty Christmas countdown also went live online at midnight with 10 per cent of units selling before 6am. Online searches for this year’s beauty advent calendar started from as early as 1st January 2023 – almost a year ahead of Christmas. Shoppers won't need to head to store and queue up to buy the calendar, but can order it online to be delivered to their door, though it's expected to sell out quickly.
This year the calendar retails for £250 and contains over £1,040 worth of the most sought-after products from the Liberty beauty hall. Among the products are an array of brands and products including a new and exclusive fragrance launch from Liberty, LBTY, Sunday Riley, Byredo, Vilhelm Parfumerie, Augustinus Bader and Rose Inc.
Since its launch in 2014 (one of the OG beauty advent calendars) the multi-brand offering has since grown into a global phenomenon with stock increasing each year to meet demand. This year, the has been reimagined by award winning artist and art director, Clym Everden, starring the iconic shopfront with all the sparkle of the festive season.

When does the Liberty Beauty Calendar 2023 go on sale and how much does it cost?
The Liberty advent calendar went on sale this September 28 following the first ever pre-sale for Beauty Drop members. Retailing at £250, the is worth around £1,040, meaning a built-in saving of £790. There will also be the chance for five UK customers to win a Golden Ticket worth £1000 to spend instore and online.
