When you've settled on a name for your new arrival after months of deliberation, it can be nerve-wracking to share your news with loved ones.
Sometimes everyone dotes on the moniker of your choice, but other times your pick doesn't get the reception you'd anticipated. Two parents know this only too well after they shared their favourite baby name with family members, only to find they pooh-poohed the couple's choice.
Now, they've been left worried they can't use the name, as it has been ruined by the response. Sharing their frustration in a post to Reddit, one of the pair wrote: "My wife and I are due in October and fell in love with the name Cooper.
"We decided to share the name with family a couple of weeks ago and someone said 'Cooper the Pooper scooper'. It's stuck with me ever since. I've told my wife the name is ruined now and it's got so much potential to get picked on for Cooper the Pooper - do you think this is a valid concern and we should look for other names?"
Thankfully, commenters were quick to reassure the parents they can still use their favourite name. One person replied: "Honestly never in a million years would I associate Cooper with that! It's a great name." A second said: "Personally, I love the name Cooper and I have a very good friend with that name. To my knowledge, he's never been made fun of for his name."

Another agreed: "I've never thought of that association with that name." They continued: "You could find another name you both like and it could still have an odd connotation." Meanwhile, someone else answered: "I really like the name Cooper, and honestly as other commenters pointed out, any name under the Sun will have some bullying potential so it's pretty hard to avoid it." "Cooper is a very nice name," they added.
