Emmerdale star teases details of super soap week amid 'revenge twist'
Emmerdale's Charity Dingle star Emma Atkins has teased details about the upcoming super soap week. Viewers will recall that every year in October the show pulls out all the stops to deliver nail-biting storylines and stunts set across the week. The most recent super stunt week included the deadly 50th anniversary storm, where several villagers lost their lives.
Teasing the upcoming super soap week, actress Emma, 48, confirmed that her character Charity will be at the "centre" of it. Emma told Digital Spy: "I'm very excited! Some super soap weeks I don't manage to be part of, which is just the way it goes. So to be at the centre and for it to be quite a big storm brewing – not literally a storm, we've done that! I just know that it's going to be spectacular in one way or another and we're due to get the scripts shortly, but it's going to be quite big."
Emmerdale's Charity Dingle star Emma Atkins has teased details about the upcoming super soap weekSoap fans will recall that Charity has been left heartbroken after discovering that her husband, Mackenzie Boyd, secretly fathered a child behind her back with Chloe Harris after a one-night stand. Charity ended things with Mackenzie, who has since pursued things romantically with Chloe. The three characters will be involved in the upcoming super soap week.
Teasing further details, Emma added: "I think the future will very much be about her confronting those issues, because it's left her quite broken. At the moment she's too broken to deal with anything, but she's just letting people know it's in her arsenal, it's there, it's not going away, it's not dying down. She was hoping very much for it to do that and it's not, it's got worse."
It comes after fans think they have "rumbled" the theme for the hit ITV soap's highly-anticipated October super soap stunt week. Although details surrounding the 2023 super stunt week remain unknown, it hasn't stopped soap fans from speculating.

Taking to social media, one fan wrote: "I have a feeling all the nasty people are all going to be involved in one big storyline for autumn. It's usually when a stunt happens because of the soap awards. We still have Caleb, Nicky, Lloyd (Amelia's Stalker), Faye. There's got to be something Emmerdale is planning where everyone involved in their revenge storylines all clash."
Fellow soap watchers were quick to join in on the theory as one person replied: "There'll definitely be the usual Autumn big storyline but I have no idea who will be involved in it apart from I'm pretty sure the Charity/Mac/Chloe saga will be involved somehow." While a different account added: "I can see Gabby's revenge ruining Kim."
It comes as Emmerdale boss, Jane Hudson, teased the upcoming super soap stunt week earlier this year, insisting that it will be "brilliant".
Charity has been left heartbroken after discovering that her husband, Mackenzie Boyd, secretly fathered a child behind her back with Chloe HarrisSpeaking to press, including Mirror, Jane said: "I was working on it late last night with my producer when we should have been going to bed – not together, in our separate houses – and we started getting a bit giddy with ideas and started messaging each other!
"Then I woke up at 3am having had a dream that somebody was trying to break my neck and I actually jumped up in bed.
"I keep a pad next to my bed and a pen, and I was like: 'I’ve got to write down some ideas.' Nobody’s getting their neck broken but I was just in that world of going 'stories, something’s happening', so at 3am this morning I was scribbling in my notebook!"
Teasing further details, Jane said: "I mean, it is tradition [for a stunt] during super soap week but we are still at the very early stages. We’re in my ‘dream head’ state at the moment. But it will be brilliant because it always is."
