Jennifer Lopez celebrated her birthday recently with a party that was hosted by her husband

Jennifer Lopez has shared a glimpse into her birthday celebrations last week, which included a party that was thrown by her husband Ben Affleck at their new home.

The singer, now 54, has since given fans an insight into the festivities through her OntheJLo newsletter. She revealed that Ben, 50, hosted a gathering at their new property in California recently, with family and friends in attendance.

She opted to wear a shimmering silver dress for the occasion. Jennifer was spotted in a pair of stilettos that complimented the dress in footage from the party and accessorised the look with a pair of statement earrings.

She's said that her husband Ben Affleck hosted a party for the special occasion

Jennifer shared footage and photos from the party with fans through her newsletter. This included photos that showed her alongside her husband Ben at the event.

She was seen with her arm around her husband - whom she's been married to since last year - in two photos. Ben was seen wearing a khaki shirt as he held onto his wife.

A clip from the party - published by PageSix - showed her having a dance on a table. She was seen dancing along to Lizzo's song About Damn Time. Guests were heard in the background cheering as Jennifer showcased her moves.

She also revealed to fans that the celebration included a pool party. Jennifer shared photos of herself modelling a black bikini. She was seen showcasing the swimswear by poolside, as well as whilst on an inflatable in the pool itself.

Jennifer said: "Thank you all for the birthday love. Here's a lil peek into my party. Ben hosted it at our new house with our closest family and friends. All the kids were there, it was a gorgeous day full of sunshine and perfect for a pool party!"

She added in the newsletter: "I felt so appreciated and acknowledged by my loved ones, and I'm extremely grateful to be where I am today at this point in my life's journey with so many beautiful, caring people to share it all with."

The award-winning performer had already shared some photos from the gathering on Instagram last week. One showed her stood on a table, which was potentially taken during the moment where she danced along to Lizzo's chart-topping song.

Jennifer had teased about the celebrations in the caption that had accompanied the post on social media a few days ago. She wrote in the post: "Birthday mood ... all month! Always a good day when Lola comes to play." It's previously been reported that Lola is a nickname and potential alter-ego of Jennifer's.
