Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb says quarterback Dak Prescott is in full control of the offense ahead of the 2023 NFL season.

The Cowboys are giving Prescott, 30, the stamp of confidence to run their offense in the upcoming season, taking a large share of the responsibility from head coach Mike McCarthy, while also taking over from former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

There is also hope that the quarterback will build on last season, where he made an NFL-high 15 interceptions.

"All the offense is in Dak’s hands now," Lamb told 105.3 The Fan. "It’s not necessarily being called from Mike or Kel since last year. It’s all on Dak. However he’s feeling versus the coverage, if he likes the matchup, we’re gonna call that play.”

Prescott is also practicing throwing deep after his 7.3 yards per pass attempt last season was the second-lowest of his NFL career. Lamb has issued a warning to the Cowboys' rival as a result. "He's very aggressive," Lamb said.

"And he's looking for the deep ball now. And as you [saw at camp on Saturday], it's up there. So if you're not gonna back up, this is a warning to everybody, if you're not gonna back up, good luck."

Dallas have three pre-season games to contest next month before kick-starting their 2023 NFL campaign. The Cowboys will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Aug. 12 before facing the New England Patriots on Aug. 20. Dallas will then finish pre-season with a game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Aug. 27.

The NFL season starts on Sept. 11 for Dallas, who will travel to take on the New York Giants. A game against the New York Jets will follow a week later, which will see Prescott go up against four-time NFL MVP, Aaron Rodgers.

Dallas will close out September with a trip to the Arizona Cardinals ahead of a busy October schedule, where they will play the Patriots, the San Francisco 49ers, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Los Angeles Rams. The Cowboys will be hoping to exceed last season's postseason result of reaching the divisional playoffs.

They finished the regular season with a record of 12-5 before beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round. A 19-12 loss at the hands of the 49ers ended the Cowboys' season, despite Prescott's best efforts to rally the troops at Levi's Stadium in January.
