GoCompare's Wynne Evans revealed he's in 'debilitating pain' as he issued an update on his recent feet surgery. The star is known for being the voice of the GoCompare advertisements as well as a host on BBC Radio Wales.
He told fans he would be missing the next few shows – as he usually appears on air between 9am and midday on weekdays – due to the painful bunion operation and asked fans to be patient as he recovers.
"I won't be back @BBCRadioWales until Thursday at the earliest this week," he said. "I'm so sorry. The operation has been more painful and debilitating than I thought it would in my unrealistic expectations." Wynne then continued: "Please have patience and I will be back as soon as I possibly can. I'm so sorry not to be with you all. Miss you loads."
Many fans rushed to the comment section to wish him a speedy recovery, with one user saying: "Get well soon Wynne it's a painful operation don't rush it." Another fan commented: "We'll miss you too Lovely. Sending much Love for a speedy recovery. Hope Ginny is looking after you," while another added: "We will be here when you come back look after yourself don't rush recovery get yourself better love you take care."

The 51-year-old will soon be appearing in the upcoming series of Celebrity MasterChef. The episode is set to air on August 2. Wynne will be competing on the cooking show against Love Island star Dani Dyer, Drag Race UK star Cheryl Hole as well as actress Amy Walsh, TV star Dave Benson Phillips and singer Jamelia.
Earlier this year, Wynne opened up about his decision to overhaul his lifestyle during an interview on This Morning. He revealed he had decided to shift some weight after he began experiencing "trouble getting up the stairs".
The Welsh tenor also admitted his "mental health hasn't been great for the past five or six years", as Wynne candidly said: "I feel great actually, it's been calories. I've always been fat, I thought 'I've gotta do something'.
"I was having trouble washing and getting up the stairs. My mental health hasn't been great in the last five or six years, and it really helped." The dad-of-two has been a recognisable face of British adverts since he burst onto our screens as Gio Compario, best known for his larger-than-life persona, jingle, tuxedo and curled moustache on the GoCompare adverts.
