Heartbroken Keira Walsh was waiting to see if her World Cup dream was over on Saturday.
The 26-year-old was inundated with messages of support after she was stretchered off against Denmark. The FA said that there was no update overnight as the injury was assessed. Speaking after 10 members of the squad took part in a training session at the Central Coast Stadium in Garford, New South Wales today, a spokesman added: "We have no further comment at the moment but may release a statement later today."
It is understood the Barcelona star, signed for a world record fee of £350,000 from Man City last season, was waiting for her mum to fly out to see her.
The dedicated midfielder had avoided leaving the team's base camp in order to stay completely focused on the tournament. Speaking on Wednesday, she said: "My family are not actually here yet. My mum is a bit gutted I think.
"She texted me the other day saying she’d wished they had come out a bit earlier but it’s alright. They are coming soon. Maybe in the next game they will be.”

"I just stay in the hotel a lot. I think I learned from France when I was a bit younger and went out a lot more and got caught up in the occasion maybe too much. At the Euros I really tried to stay focused and not do too much and that helped so I’m trying to do the same.”
Walsh fell to the floor and appeared to say "I've done my knee" when the team physios ran over in their 1-0 victory over Denmark on Friday. Her Barcelona FC teammate, Lucy Bronze stayed close as medics rushed around her attempting to put her leg in a brace. But the situation looked bleak as Blackburn-born Keira wiped away tears from her eyes as she was carried off.

But we don’t know yet, so we can’t take any assumptions. Let’s just wait until we really have a diagnosis and then we can tell you.
"You then saw what we did, (Georgia) Stanway dropped back and Laura came in. Yes, of course we had to find our feet a little bit you saw different stages. We really dominated the first half. Then Keira (Walsh) went out and we had to adapt to the situation.
