Iain Stirling has revealed a personal connection he has to one of the Love Island 2023 cast.

The TV presenter appeared on The One Show tonight to chat to Alex Jones and Roman Kemp ahead of the final of the ITV2 series, which airs on Monday evening and will see one couple crowned the champions and take home a £50,000 prize. During his appearance on the show, Iain revealed he has a very personal - and also unusual - connection to one of the Islanders.

As he chatted about the finale, which he is currently recording voice overs for, Iain was asked by Alex Jones about his connection to the Islanders - and he revealed a rather bizarre link to one of them, leaving both Alex and Roman stunned.

Speaking on the show today, Iain revealed that Ouzy - who was brought from Casa Amor into the main villa by Ella T - had helped to install Iain's auntie's kitchen when he was still working as a tradesman. "Because he’s from Edinburgh, he did my auntie’s kitchen about three years ago. My auntie sent a photo in our family WhatsApp group and said this guy’s gorgeous, he should go on Love Island," he revealed as Roman and Alex gasped in shock.

Ouzy was booted out the show recently alongside his partner Kady McDermott, who returned this year following a previous stint on the show. Since they've been out of the show, the pair haven't been shy about sharing their true feelings about the others.

Speaking after his exit, Ouzy said at the time: "It’s a bit bittersweet as it’s not nice to be dumped but I was prepared to go. I’m excited to see my family and I’m happy about the fact that I left with someone I have a connection with."

And of his relationship with Kady, he added: "It surprised me a bit. I didn’t think she would like me as much as she does. The last two weeks in the Villa have been amazing and I couldn’t have asked for more. She’s ticking so many boxes and every day we’re getting closer and closer. She said that she wants to come to Edinburgh so I’ll show her a bit of Edinburgh - that is definitely on the cards."
