The dismembered remains of a self-made millionaire influencer have been found in a suitcase by a group of playing children.
Body parts of Fernando Pérez Algaba, 39, were found in a red suitcase dumped by a stream in Ingeniero Budge, Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 23 July. He was reported as missing on 19 July. A group of children reportedly found the suitcase while playing by the stream and their parents informed the police.
The case allegedly included the victim’s legs and a forearm, with complete arm was found after the authorities dredged the stream. Algaba was later identified by his fingerprints and distinctive tattoos.
Local media said the body parts were cleanly amputated, suggesting it could have been carried out by a professional. When the police searched the millionaire’s house, they could not find his phone or wallet.
Algaba has reportedly posted cryptic messages about "evil people" who repaid kindness with hate. One post showed him in a car saying: "It's incredible how there are such evil people in the world that while you're thinking of helping them, they're thinking of destroying you."

He travelled to Argentina from his home in Barcelona for one week before he was allegedly murdered. A woman told the Public Prosecutor’s Office that he had rented her apartment for a week.
He was supposed to hand over the keys on 19 July but failed to show up. The autopsy on the victim’s remains showed that he had been shot three times before being dismembered and stuffed in the suitcase.

By the time he was 24, Pérez had a large warehouse full of high-end cars, motorcycles and jet skis. He founded a car and jetski rental company in Miami, US, before moving to Barcelona in Spain, earlier this year.
For the last few years, Pérez was mainly involved in cryptocurrency investments and currency trading from an office with over 25 employees in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires. One suspect has been arrested in connection with his death as the investigation continues.
