British teenager dies after collapsing in Ibiza nightclub at 5am
A British teenager has tragically died in hospital after collapsing at a nightspot in Ibiza in the early hours of the morning.
The 19-year-old was rushed to hospital around 5am but tragically was pronounced dead a few hours later having initially been revived.
He was said to have gone into cardiac arrest before paramedics arrived at the nightclub and ambulance crews are understood to have been able to resuscitate him and make him stable at the scene before he was taken to Can Misses Hospital in the island's capital about 6.30am.
But he was pronounced dead an hour later the hospital confirmed. The nightspot where he collapsed is believed to be Amnesia, near the village of San Rafael on the road leading from the party resort of San Antonio to Ibiza Town on the Spanish island. It was holding a summer-season weekly party called Bresh last night.
Many people flock to the Spanish holiday island in the summer for its party lifestyle and club scene, with resorts also famous for the rich and famous that visit.

An entry on the Amnesia club's website said: “Every Thursday from June 8th until August 31st, BRESH! lands at Amnesia The enigmatic party with top artists that has already landed in more than twenty countries, and now returns to Ibiza the most beautiful party in the world.”
A local health source confirmed the patient admitted to Can Misses was a “19-year-old British national.” He said: “The initial call came in at 4.50am this morning. Emergency responders were asked to attend a nightspot on the road between San Antonio and Ibiza Town where a 19-year-old man had gone into cardiac arrest.
“He was brought out of cardiac arrest by the responders at the scene and stabilised before being transferred to Can Misses Hospital. He was admitted to A&E at Can Misses at 6.30am but was confirmed dead at 7.22am today despite attempts to save him.”
A police spokesman confirmed the death was being probed, saying: “We are investigating and awaiting the results of the post-mortem.” An autopsy will now be carried out on the teenager with no indication from the hospital about what may have caused the cardiac arrest.
Earlier this month a British tourist died after plunging from a balcony in Ibiza. The unnamed 35-year-old fell to his death in the early hours of July 4 in San Antonio after the alarm was raised just after 3.15am. Police are investigating with sources saying he had been on a second-floor balcony when he went over the edge.
The first 999 call that came in indicated he was lying on the floor below an apartment block near to a British supermarket and a short walk from the seafront. A spokesman for the Civil Guard said: “I can confirm a 35-year-old British man died in San Antonio. The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.”
A spokesperson for a regional government-run emergency response coordination centre said: “We were alerted at 3.17am this morning. The initial reports were that a man was lying unconscious in the street. He was already dead by the time the first ambulance arrived and there was nothing they could do to save him.”
Witnesses are understood to have told police and paramedics after they arrived that the man had plunged from a second-floor balcony.
