Love Island couples' authenticity from 'showboating' Mitch to 'odd' Molly and Zach

Love Island is quickly coming to an end with five couples fighting to prove their love and care for each other despite weeks of drama.

Last night, fans were devastated when fan-favourite Scott and his partner Abi were voted off the island.

Abi and Scott, Ella B and Mitchel and Molly and Zach found themselves in the bottom three. It was then up to the Islanders to decide who they were sending home, and given that Abi and Scott have decided to be friends, it was a foregone conclusion.

And now, Ella and Tyrique, Jess and Sammy, Ella B and Mitch, Molly and Zach and Whitney and Lochan are the only ones left as the season comes to an end.

However, not all the stars are authentic with their partners as body language expert Judi James pointed out Mitch's 'showboating' and Whitney and Lochan's 'unconvincing' connection.

"Showboating Mitch seems much more focused on the rest of the villa than he does on Ella B and their main compatibility after all the rows seem to be discussing them and plotting with her," she told us. "Surely if he were happy in love he might calm down a bit but he seems angry?

"They did a kiss for the camera but their lips barely touched and he seemed to micro-flinch. They could be the first to split."

It comes as Ella B questioned Mitch after seeing a clip of him saying they wouldn't work. Mitch and Scott even addressed their confrontation at The Grafties, which saw the latter call Mitch a 'k***head'.

Meanwhile, Judi believes Ella and Tyrique are the most authentic couple in the villa despite the difficult journey they had to get where they are.

"By far the best body language in the villa in terms of authenticity, these two look sexy (he grabs her bum as they walk together etc) and synchronised and the way she calmly went to stand by his side during all the recent rows suggested their default position is now a united front," she said.

"She’s often seen ‘mothering’ him though. She sat on the ground ‘feeding’ him his water bottle while he laid on the bean bag like a baby and she tends to sit up socialising and protecting him by sitting in front while he lies behind her, ignoring the conversations.

"This could suggest she’ll be keeping him on a short leash when they get home and if he stops being childlike and submissive and starts back clubbing and playing football their relationship could get stormy."

Ella and Tyrique have been on a massive journey which saw them briefly split up following Casa Amor. However, no amount of heartbreak managed to stop them from drifting back together.

With all the hype for the new Barbie, it's no surprise Jess' body language 'looks like a Barbie who found her Ken.'

"She seems so relaxed and maybe a bit smug at times but then so does he and they seem to share motivational values in terms of winning and gaining fame, which could keep them together longer when they get home," Judi explained. "Their body language does ‘cute’ well when the cameras are 'on’: she throws her head onto his shoulder or looks up for a kiss and he pulled her in for a hug as he was cleaning his teeth, but in bed, she’s turned her back and he’s pulled on an eye mask.

"When the bedroom lights went on in the morning though she was pulling his head down for a kiss. They lack easy synchronicity and when she laid back and he had to stretch to put his arm around her shoulders they looked awkward."

According to Judi, Sammy seems to want someone 'more sophisticated' for a serious relationship.

A comfortable couple is Molly and Zach - who are one of the original couples of the show. Although she was briefly eliminated, she came back stronger and went straight for Zach.

The body language expert says Molly is putting in more work as her body language is 'dramatic' while he is 'totally laid-back'

"She’s currently performing a lot of stroking gestures on Zach (or was even sat inspecting his back close-up for maybe a preening ritual), which suggests a desire to keep him calm and in her arms," she said. "He tends to loop an arm around her neck or drape it around her shoulders, meaning he might be more casual about the relationship and less prone to use eye-gazing and eye contact to create any meeting of minds.

"Their energies look contrasting and could collide outside the villa. He still looks like a single guy and I can’t see Molly tempting him out of the gym when they get home. His ‘I’ve found something special’ after being in the bottom three couples for compatibility sounded incongruent and a bit hollow, delivered with a cursory-looking head tilt."

Last but not least is fan-favourite couple Whitney and Lochan, who are 'massively likeable'. However, their body language signals 'as a couple are not convincing'.

The duo have a lot of fun together but Judi says Whitney "doesn’t seem to be getting the challenge she needs from Lochan."

"He looks anxious, holding her hand or her hip but then performing a nervous picking ritual while she looks quite cool with him. His romantic set piece declaration was dry," she said. "‘I do see you being my girlfriend in the outside world’ came with an eye cut-off and her ‘yeah’ came with a contradictory headshake rather than a nod.

"It’s sad that when Whitney told him ‘I’m happy’ she didn’t tell her face too. She even told the camera later ‘I’m definitely happy inside’ before looking down and doing a tongue-poke to suggest otherwise."
