Emmerdale lie exposed tonight as identity of Jai Sharma's father confirmed

Emmerdale will air a huge reveal on Thursday night during an hour-long episode of the ITV soap. Jai Sharma will finally be told the identity of his biological father.

But he isn't the only one in the dark, as viewers will also learn who Jai's real father is, following a bombshell twist earlier this month. Jai was preparing to marry Laurel Thomas when he came across some old documents at his dad Rishi Sharma's house.

Going through some letters, he came across an adoption certificate that confirmed Rishi was not his biological dad. Rishi confirmed that Georgia Sharma was his mother, as he'd always believed.

The truth put a strain on the father and son's relationship, as Jai felt as though his whole life had been a lie. Jai wanted answers, but Rishi and Georgia could not provide them.

Rishi claimed he was keeping the truth from him for his sake, and that he would always be his dad. But as Jai begged to know the identity of his biological father, Rishi refused to tell him.

Until now, Rishi still hasn't told him what happened all those years ago, other than that the man is out of the picture, and they have no idea where he is.

He also suggested he and Georgia started off as friends, and that she fell pregnant before they were together. Rishi said that he agreed to help raise Jai and claimed to be the baby's father, before he and Georgia eventually got together and got married.

Jai didn't believe the whole story and thought there was more to it. The secrets and lies have left him rejecting Rishi, even uninviting him to his wedding.

But as the big day arrives on Thursday, the truth finally comes out about Jai's parentage and what happened all those years ago.

Jai will be left reeling when Rishi finally admits the identity of his father, but will it cause Jai to push him further away or might they reconcile?

Viewers will have to tune in on Thursday night to find out who the man in question is and why he isn't a part of his son's life. It's not known if Georgia will be sticking around after the wedding or if she's just in the village for the wedding.

The character returned to the show for the big day on Wednesday, while the role has been recast. Georgia hasn't been in the village since her exit in 2015.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
