Gemma Atkinson has revealed her second child was delivered by the same surgeon who helped bring her first child into the world.
The 38-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a candid update on the precious baby boy Thiago's entrance into world on Monday, 17th July.
Gemma recalls how she went into hospital 24 hours after her waters broke, having "stayed at home for as long as possible" before making the journey.
She and fiancé Gorka Marquez decided it was time to leave, however, after noticing that the colour of the fluid had "changed a little" because "Thiago had opened his bowels."

Gemma gave birth to her second baby, Thiago, on 17th JulyOnce in the hospital, the former Hollyoaks star was given a choice between an induced labour or a C-section. Having already had an "awful" experience with the hormone injection during Mia's birth, she was determined to go down the operative route.

"It ended up in an emergency C section and PPH [postpartum haemorrhage] anyway," she continued, before adding that her second delivery was "wonderful" and "SO much more relaxed" than her first. She also revealed that coincidentally, the same surgeon who delivered Mia in 2019 was on shift at the maternity ward, and "so she delivered Thiago as well."
Gemma, who first announced in January she and Gorka, 32, were expecting their second child, went on to gush about how satisfied she was with the process.
"It's a huge operation regardless," she acknowledged. "But I couldn’t be happier in the outcome of how he arrived. It felt like somehow it was meant to be this way." She also gave a shout-out to her loved ones, including her mother Sandra, for helping her through the "tough" recovery.
"My incredible mum has moved in this week while Gorka is away which me and Mia are loving. Although I have to keep reminding her to stop buying me pastries!" she added, before signing off the post with a cheeky remark.
"As I always do with every situation I’ve sat back and looked for a silver lining, which in this case, is after two babies, Gorka’s favourite pub is still very much intact and neat," she quipped, much to the delight of her followers.

Gemma has previously spoken out about her struggle with PTSD after the birth of her daughter, Mia, in July 2019. Her birth plan took an unexpected turn when she had to have an emergency C-section and lost nearly a litre of blood after suffering a haemorrhage.
""All these things were going through my mind, what did I do that caused all that to happen? I was telling myself for weeks and weeks I’d failed at childbirth," Gemma admitted in a film for Steph’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4 last year. She also said that the experience left her with nightmares of Mia being taken from her, and that she would wake up 'screaming' and 'sweating' from the horrifying dreams.
Gemma initially believed she'd never be able to go through the process again, but after meeting another woman who had survived a similar ordeal, she began to contemplate the possibility of having another child. "I'm at the stage where I want a sister or brother for Mia. The first few months of Mia’s life, I kept saying to my partner, Gorka, I’m not going through that again. I’ve now come of it and I feel I could," she admitted on the Channel 4 show.
