Fortnite's Futurama crossover has rolled out a bunch of new cosmetics into the game, but that's not all – Bender has brought his Shiny Metal Fortnite Raygun along for the ride.

Fortnite is no stranger to adding new items to the series to coincide with crossovers. During Chapter 4 Season 2 alone we had plenty of these, like the Attack on Titan event's ODM Gear, the Star Wars event's lightsabers and Force mechanics, and the Spider-verse event's Web Shooters and Miles Morales skin. Now to coincide with the Fortnite x Futurama crossover introduced in Fortnite update 25.20, Bender's Fortnite ray gun has arrived.

Bender's Shiny Metal Raygun is a Mythic weapon and is functionally similar to the Kymera Ray Gun that was included all the way back in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7. The new Fortnite ray gun fires out a continuous stream of energy that damages enemies as the beam stays locked on them, and it has unlimited ammo with the trade-off that it can overheat from continuous use. However, if you have two of the Fortnite ray guns the overheating doesn't carry like it does with some other Mythic items, so you can switch between them and keep blasting at will.

How to find the Fortnite ray gun

There are a few ways to get a hold of the Futurama Fortnite ray gun, but there's only one way to 100% guarantee it, so we'll go over that first.

Head to the Mega City Pier (at the south of Mega City). Once you arrive in the area you should see the hireable character icon on your map; head over to it and you'll find none other than Bender Bending Rodríguez walking around. You're going to want to interact with Bender, which for each platform is as follows on default bindings:

A menu will pop up with the option to hire Bender, with another option to purchase Bender's Shiny Metal Raygun for a whopping 600 Bars. Obviously this way is prohibitive because of the high cost for some players, but it's the only guaranteed way to get the new Fortnite ray gun 100% of the time.

The other solution is to simply just look – which we realise is an incredibly boring answer. We'd recommend staying in Mega City because it has 118 chests spawned in the area alone, meaning that your chances of stumbling across Bender's Fortnite ray gun is significantly higher than other areas.
