Andy Reid is preparing for his 11th season as Kansas City Chiefs head coach, and his 25th in the NFL.
The 65-year-old has now won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs, and will be confident of defending their crown for as long as Patrick Mahomes continues to play at the top level. However, there was speculation surrounding Reid's future towards the end of last season as some feared he could retire.
Before the Chiefs faced the Philadelphia Eagles in February's Super Bowl, Reid said: "Look, I’m not getting any younger. I still have a young quarterback. I have a decision I have to make after this game."
The Chiefs went on to win 38-35 as Harrison Butker's late field goal decided the contest, and Reid then made it clear that he would not be going anywhere. But Chiefs owner Clark Hunt has assured fans that he's never even had a conversation about retirement with Reid, proving it's not yet on the mind of the head coach.
"That's never come up in my conversations with Andy," Hunt told the media from training camp on Sunday. "I think, as I recall his answer, somebody asked him the question and I don't think he stopped to think about that subject and it has sort of had a life of its own there for a few weeks until Andy said, 'No, I'm not thinking about that.'"

Reid isn't losing any love for the game either, as he admitted that even though the season may have stopped that doesn't mean he isn't working. Even at the age of 65 coach Reid continued to look over plays during his vacation period.
"I take my work with me," Reid said. "I’ll spend a couple hours a day working on things, I enjoy doing that. You know, some people read novels. I look at plays."

Complacency refuses to kick in, as each year at training camp they make it tougher than the last.
Mahomes ensures that everyone gives their all, as the quarterback is aware how hard Reid makes the first few sessions. "I told those guys ‘make sure you’re ready for it,’" quarterback Mahomes told reporters on Tuesday’s move-in day.
"St. Joe is an amazing spot to have camp, and we come out here and have a lot of fun, but you have to be ready to work. I told them, 'if you can get through Andy Reid’s training camp, then you’re going to be able to get through an NFL season.'"
