Parents warned against 'atrocious' baby name as people ask if they 'hate kids'
When it comes to baby names, some parents think it's important to give their tot a traditional name or one with meaning, whereas for others decide to opt for more unusual and unique monikers.
As the top 100 baby name data has been released for the first half of 2023, we've seen a shift in more traditional names being replaced with names influenced by hit shows such as Bridgeton and Succession.
We've also seen names influenced by the 'cottagecore' trend - a social media aesthetic depicting a homely, romanticised life in nature, as names such as Jasmine Dahlia and Lily landed spots in the most popular baby name list.
However one mum has shared the name spelling her inventive partner has suggested for their little girl, but she thinks it's dreadful and doesn't want to lump her daughter with the unusual title for the rest of her life
The internet has been quick to agree with her with one mum branding the 'atrocious' and another asking if he's had a knock to the head.

Sharing on the Mumsnet forum, the worried mum voiced her concerns for the spelling her partner suggested for their soon-to-be baby girl. She wrote: "Ehllsyie as an alternative spelling of Elsie.. Thoughts?
"My partner suggested it but I think it's awful! Look dreadful lol and would condemn our poor daughter to a lifetime of having to say "it's same as Elsie but spelt...." Argh!"
And other mum's have been rushing to put a stop to the spelling before it's too late, with hundreds of comments telling the woman to not agree.
One mumsnet user wrote: "Why? Why would anyone do that? Don't saddle a child with an "alternative" spelling."
Another simply commented: "Atrocious."
"Erm.. no. Why? Elsie has a spelling. If he doesn't like the spelling, he doesn't really like the name. I have a REALLY common 90s name, spelt differently. It's a pain in the arse. I've changed it officially on most things but a couple of things, like my original email, use the old spelling; and it just causes pointless trouble," one mum added.
A fellow Mumsnet user asked: "Ridiculous! Assume he was winding you up?"
And another joked: "Lol very youneeeque."
Meanwhile, another chimed in with: "Apart from anything else, phonetically it's entirely wrong, so people are going to see it, and when their eyes have stopped rolling, pronounce it Ell-see-ee or Ell-sye-ee. Or even Else-yee. The one thing that letter combination can't make, is Elsie."
Finally, one baffled mum asked: "Why does he hate his child?"
