The NFL have confirmed that Orlando will be the host city for the 2024 edition of the Pro Bowl Games.

Every season, the best 88 players from across the NFC and AFC meet in the annual Pro Bowl event. It has been confirmed that the Floridian city will host the event again, which will take place on Sunday, February 4, having previously been awarded the games every year from 2017-20.

NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning will be the head coaches for each team. Peyton Manning (AFC) played quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos in his illustrious career, while Eli spent his entire NFL career with the New York Giants.

The Pro Bowl sees the best players from across the NFL split up into the AFC and NFC and compete in a series of challenges. A series of changes were made following discussions with players ahead of the 2023 edition of the event.

Originally, the Pro Bowl was an All-Star game between the best players from the AFC and NFC. For the 2022 season, though, it was introduced that there would be a series of challenges for the players to compete in, as well as the game.

In February this year, Las Vegas Raiders star Josh Jacobs was critical of the changes made to the Pro Bowl. The running back claimed that there was a lack of organisation with the way the games were managed.

“They need to figure out a way to make this make sense, because I don’t enjoy this,” Jacobs told the Las Vegas Review-Journal on February 4 of this year.. “We’re just kind of here. It’s not even really organised. They need to figure it out.”

The NFL have also announced that the Pro Bowl will use flag football throughout the event. As well as players competing from the AFC and NFC, there will be players from the NFL FLAG Championships taking part.

"Building off the success from last year's reinvented format that elevated flag football and introduced fun forms of competition and entertainment, we are thrilled to bring The 2024 Pro Bowl Games to Orlando," said Peter O'Reilly, NFL executive vice president.

"Hosting multiple Pro Bowls in years past, Orlando is a world-class destination and a favourite getaway for our players and their families, and we look forward to working with the city of Orlando and Florida Citrus Sports to create the ultimate all-star celebration for players, their families and our fans."
