Meet Jamie Foxx's close knit family who 'saved his life' amid medical emergency
Jamie Foxx has paid tribute to his family as he credited them with saving his life after he "went to hell and back" following a terrifying medical emergency.
The 55-year-old was rushed to hospital back in April while working on his Netflix film Back In Action and he had remained tight-lipped about his health scare. He's now opened up about the scary incident as he said he is on the road to recovery.
"I went to hell and back. And my road to recovery had some potholes as well but I'm coming back. I'm able to work [...] and I just want to like say that I love everybody and I love all the love that I got," he told fans on Instagram.
Jamie also thanked his loved ones and said: "To be honest with you, my sister Deidra Dixon and my daughter Corinne saved my life. So to them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I'm able to leave you this video.
"I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y'all know they kept it airtight, they didn't let nothing out, they protected me."

She supported Jamie Foxx throughout his medical emergency (FilmMagic)Corinne Foxx, who Jamie shares with his ex-girlfriend Connie Kline, supported her father throughout his medical emergency.
She spent months supporting her father and making sure the reason for his hospital dash was kept private. However, with reports that the family were "preparing for the worst", Corinne was forced to speak out.
"Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!
"Thanks for everyone's prayers and support! We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too," she wrote on Instagram.
Corinne has teamed up with her father for several work projects and even started hosting the game show Beat Shazam with him in 2019.

Jamie recently spoke out about his medical emergency (zz/John Nacion/STAR MAX/IPx)Corinne isn't the only daughter who is following in Jamie's footsteps. Annalise Bishop, who the actor shares with his ex-girlfriend Kristin Grannis, has shown an interest in a music career.
Jamie previously said his daughter had taken up piano, something he also did as a young child.
"That's what's been good is we have been able to connect like that," he said during an interview with Entertainment Tonight back in 2020. "My 11-year-old now knows how to play the piano so well, she actually plays my songs while I sing to them."
He added: "She said, 'I am going on tour with you.' I am blessed, we are all blessed."

Deidra even acted as his "personal hairstylist" on all of his marvel films, with the actor revealing on social media that she "created the hairstyle for Django [Unchained]."
Jamie moved Deidra and DeOndra, who had Down Syndrome, into his home and revealed that some people were unsure if he would be able to cope.
In a 2004 GQ article, Jamie said a friend asked if he can "handle all this", to which he replied: "If I can't take care of my sister who has Down syndrome, what will people think of me?
"Sitting up in Mr. Chow, drinking Dom Perignon and doing interviews with GQ, and my sister is somewhere? So, no, we won't have any of that."
DeOndra sadly died three years ago at the age of 36. Sharing the news on Instagram, Jamie wrote: "My heart is shattered into a million pieces... my beautiful loving sister Deondra has transitioned...
"I say transitioned because she will always be alive... anyone who knew my sis... knew that she was a bright light..."
