Kate's astonishment to Harry and Meghan's romance and William's explicit quip
In the early days of their romance, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were keen to keep their blossoming relationship under wraps.
They enjoyed their first few dates in private rooms at some of London private members clubs, while also getting to know each other during cosy nights in at Harry’s Kensington Palace cottage. But after a few months, Harry decided to widen their bubble and introduce the American actress to his nearest and dearest.
His friends were first introduced to Meghan before he took the plunge and decided to let his family, including brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate, know about the new lady in his life.

He claims his brother "knew something was going on" and wanted to know more. So during a visit to Kensington Palace and after Prince George and Princess Charlotte were tucked up in bed, Harry says he took the plunge to tell them - but not until Kate and William had promised to keep his news secret.

He started by saying the new woman in his life was American actress Meghan, and then said she was on Suits.
Harry writes: "Their mouths fell open. They turned to each other. Then Willy turned to me and said: 'F*** off'."

Later in the book, Harry recalls their first meeting - admitting he was more nervous for that introduction than he was the Queen's.
He writes: "After a wait the door opened and there was my big brother, a bit dressed up. Nice trousers, nice shirt, open collar. I introduced Meg, who leaned in and gave him a hug, which completely freaked him out. He recoiled.

Since that day back in 2016, relations between the two couples have broken down with William and Harry's bond hanging by a thread.
Elsewhere in his explosive book, Harry accused his older brother of physically attacking him during a heated row. He also dished on a disagreement between his wife Meghan and sister-in-law Kate over bridesmaids' dresses in 2018.
And now Tom Quinn, the author behind the book Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family, said the rift between the two couples is potentially too deep to fix.
He told the Express : "People I've spoken to who work for both William and Kate say this is never really going to be healed.

"Privately there's a lot more anger than there is publicly, especially about the accusation William physically assaulted Harry. Apparently, William is furious."
