Most people were expecting the newest Fortnite update to arrive today after a long hiatus, however nothing has arrived today leading to confusion in the Fortnite community.

Fortnite players have been desperate for update 25.20 to arrive, especially considering that it's been around a month since update 25.11 dropped, and that Chapter 4 Season 3 has been one of the most underwhelming seasons the game has seen in a long time. Since a Fortnite update would usually arrive on a Tuesday, most players were expecting downtime to be announced last night ahead of an update today, but it came and went without a peep from Epic Games.

So where is the Fortnite update? According to Fortnite leaker @ShiinaBR (who originally posted what players should expect from an update today) has said that even though the update didn't release today as originally expected, players won't have to wait too long as it should arrive on Wednesday, July 26.

However, in the past Epic Games has posted a Tweet on Monday night when downtime is typically announced, alerting players to the delay of an update. So while it's probably nothing and an update will come tomorrow like Shiina says, there is a chance that we might not get an update at all this week.

Wilds more like milds

The Fortnite drought lasting yet another week may be the nail in the coffin for Wilds; when even the accounts dedicated to reporting on Fortnite news and leaks are grilling it, you know things are getting bad. While new weapons like the MK Alpha have been great additions, a new assault rifle isn't exactly mind-blowing – especially considering the fantastic Attack on Titan items included in Chapter 4 Season 2 which felt game-changing.

Not that the game needs extra IP to make it good, but outside of Optimus Prime, nothing exciting has really been added to the game this season. Sure, Summer Escape was fun enough, but even that was extremely derivative of other summer events. Mix that in with the fact that there hasn't been a Fortnite live event during 2023 so far and I'm starting to wonder if Epic Games is planning on moving away from some of the more extravagant elements in Fortnite.

Hopefully we do actually get an update tomorrow and it turns things around for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3, because right now I'm just waiting on Chapter 4 Season 4 to get excited about the game again.
