Manchester United will play Wrexham in San Diego on Tuesday, taking on the Welsh side owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in a highly-anticipated pre-season fixture.
Both sides have been in the USA for the past couple of weeks, with United kickstarting their tour with an impressive 2-0 win against Arsenal. Erik ten Hag's side look strong at present, with the arrivals of Mason Mount and Andre Onana boosting the Red Devils ahead of their return to the Champions League next season.
Wrexham, meanwhile, return to the EFL this season following a 15-year absence, this means that they will be competing in the fourth tier of English football. Their opening US fixture was a tough one, with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea in North Carolina - Phil Parkinson's side will be hoping to put up a stronger performance this time around after beating LA Galaxy II 4-0 last time out.
Despite being from either side of the England-Wales border, United vs Wrexham is a clash of two sides who are local to one another. Just 43 miles of Cheshire countryside separate the two clubs, but they will now face each other over 5,000 miles away at the South-Western extreme of the United States.
United and Wrexham have played each other just five times before, with their last meeting being a 5-2 win for Sir Alex Ferguson's Red Devils in the 1995 FA Cup. They also played each other in European football as recently as 1990, with Wrexham losing over two legs against Ferguson's side as the Welsh representatives in the old European Cup Winners' Cup.
