There is nothing more exciting than moving into a new home. Brand new designs, new interiors, and new neighbours are all part of the fun and especially a new build - being able to put your stamp on your new pad however you like.

However, it isn't all roses as some new builds have been notorious for snags, cracks, lumps, and bumps and residents have been hilariously sharing their new build 'fails' on a popular Twitter page with people claiming the planning for homes has suffered a dramatic death.

The page @HateNewbuild notoriously posts the problems many new homeowners are facing, and urges people to send in their new build issues.

From gardens that look like a maze of wooden fences to concrete blocks in the middle of driveways, people are left baffled at how property developers leave their homes.

A photo posted by the account shows the view from someone's bedroom window and what looks to be a bland brown sea of wooden fences with randomly wonky lines dividing up people's gardens, writing: "Wouldn't it be nice if the developers threw in a fruit tree in at the bottom of each garden."

One user was quick to comment: "As a teenager that would be perfect for garden hopping…who can do the most fences and get back to home base without getting caught."

"Miserable. You could take all those fences out and turn it into a nice green space where all the kids can play whilst being supervised. share the garden with your neighbours instead of whatever this horror is," suggested another.

A fellow user added: "Are houses now built to last only until the mortgage is signed?"

"If I was a postman, I'd refuse to deliver the mail to this house. Regardless of the rest of the faults," posted another.

The account also shared a hilarious image showing a house that once had windowsills, but now just has marks where the wrong adhesive was used to secure them in place.

With the caption: "Make sure to check your builder uses quality Pritt-Stick for gluing your window apron to the wall (you don't want to use the cheap knock-off they use in schools)."

Other posts show lampposts built in front of garage doors, telephone and internet connection boxes blocking people's drives, as well as an apartment balcony positioned away from the door and window.

Twitter users have been left astounded by the fails, with one user tweeting: "Looks like a young offenders institution."

Another wrote: "Standard of house building is a scandal.

While another commented: "When did stick-on stone sills become a thing..."
