Adding a sauce packet to your cooking can help add some flavour to your dishes without the faff of making the sauce from scratch, whether it's bringing a touch of salsa spice to your Mexican dishes, or some Korean BBQ sauce to enhance your stir fry.

But did you know there's an easier way to squeeze every drop out of the packets without having to roll it up like a toothpaste tube or press your thumbs into the plastic so hard they go numb?

One man on social media has shared the perfect life hack for making sure you never waste precious sauce again - and all you need is a saucepan lid.

In a video shared to his @andrelifehack account on TikTok, the man, named Andre, revealed that to make emptying sauce packets a breeze, you simply need to cut open the top of the packet, place it at the edge of your pan, and place the lid on top of the pan, effectively trapping the sauce packet inside.

Then, you simply need to slowly pull the sauce packet out of the pan, keeping the lid held down to create pressure - which will force the contents of the packet out and into your pan with no mess and no fuss.

Andre's video also contained other life hacks including how to fold a fitted sheet properly, but foodies in the comments were floored by the sauce hack - with many branding it "genius".

One person said: "The first one is genius!", while another added: "The lid thing - YES!!"

And a third posted: "Excellent way to get the sauce out of the foil packet. I've been doing it wrong. Thanks for sharing."

Meanwhile, other foodies were left mesmerised recently after an Instagram user shared an 'easy' hack for peeling garlic that can be done so quickly you'll miss it if you blink.

In a video, the Instagram user revealed all you need to do is carefully cut the bulb in half, before hitting it with the flat edge of the knife. And while some commenters were stunned by the trick, others weren't convinced it actually worked.

Replying to the popular video, which amassed over 135,000 likes, one viewer claimed: "I've tried it. It doesn't work." A second said: "This hack doesn't actually work but at least this is the proper amount of garlic to put in a recipe."

But someone else replied: "I tried, it works. You just have to hit it hard at the end." A second added: "Just take a flat heavy butcher knife or another object similar and give it a solid smack. It works just don't be 'cute' with it."
