A man couldn't believe what was happening when his neighbour decided to install security cameras that were not only pointing directly into his bathroom - but other rooms of the house too.

The bloke, who rents the property in Sydney, Australia with his wife and children, was left asking "how it's legal" for his privacy to be invaded to such an extreme extent.

In a recent TikTok video, the man shared a clip from inside his shower, where you could clearly see two security cameras fitted to the side of their house, pointing straight at his property.

He said: "So this is the shower. Tell me how this is legal. Please, tell me. This is one of the windows. There's still plenty more windows on this side."

The man then went to the bottom floor of the house to the downstairs bathroom, as well as the kitchen and lounge, and showed how the cameras were facing them. He added: "So there's basically four windows," as well as covering the outside of his house.

In a separate video, he said he felt like is privacy had been "violated" and that he "might as well be in the Big Brother house".

According to social media user, he has asked local police who "said it's legal" in New South Wales and his neighbour is "apparently not breaking the law". He also added: "So the council has got back to me [and] has let me know that they can't get involved as this is a civil matter and legally, she's not doing anything illegally. On top of that, the police have said they can't do anything about it. So I'm going to have to speak to a lawyer."

When asked whether he has spoken to the neighbour, the man replied: "Can't speak to them, tells you to get off property."

Explaining the backstory in a separate video, the man said she had moved into the property two or three years ago, and that he was there before her. He added: "She's come in and made petty complaints for the last two to three years.

"I'm talking about complaints like, bins too close to her driveway, air conditioning is too loud, I left my bins out there for too long, I'm apparently sub-leasing, my kids are too loud... I've got kids under the age of three, what do you expect? This is the type of person, and neighbour, she is. And the list goes on."

People in the comment section were baffled at the man's story, with one person saying: "Don't see how that is okay! That wall is your boundary line those cameras are on your side of the boundary. I'd be starting a war."

Another added: "Invasion on privacy. in the mean time cover the cameras, call the police and take it to court. Otherwise make them remove them."
