Love Island's Samie's hospital dash as surgery is postponed after cancer scare
Love Island star Samie Elishi has revealed that she was rushed to hospital in recent days but has unfortunately been forced to postpone her upcoming thyroid surgery due to an illness.
Samie, 23, who appeared on the winter series of Love Island this year tearfully revealed a cancer scare after worried fans pointed out a lump on her neck back in April.
After leaving the Love Island villa, Samie was bombarded with concerning messages from her eagle-eyed followers who suggested she get her neck checked out and Samie has since thanked her fans, after doctors discovered a 5cm lump on her thyroid.
Updating fans on her surgery to have the lump removed, Samie explained on her YouTube channel that she fell ill after her recent getaway and now her operation has been postponed.
Opening up about her hospital dash, Samie explained: "I didn't realise how bad tonsillitis could be but I was on an IV drip on the cruise to try and get food and water in me because I couldn't eat or drink.

Samie has been sharing her journey on social media in a bid to help others (Instagram/samieelishi)"Then as soon as I landed I was meant to go to the Beyoncé concert with PrettyLittleThing which I'm absolutely gutted I couldn't make but I had to land and go straight to the hospital.
"Me and my mum went straight to the hospital and got checked out because the antibiotics I got given on the cruise were wearing off so I had to be admitted into hospital here. So I was there almost over night and basically I didn't know this but you can't have surgery if you have an infection."
Unfortunately, due to her illness, Samie will now have to wait for another surgery date as she told her Youtube fans: "My surgery was meant to be a couple of days later after the cruise so it got postponed. Now it will be at the end of this month so it is quite soon now.
"I've had such amazing messages as well saying how helpful it has been me sharing my journey. People have found lumps in their throat and went to get it checked out.

So yeah surgery is still going ahead it just got postponed," she shared.
The reality TV star recently informed her followers that the lump on her neck is a 'grade three', which means doctors cannot yet determine if it's cancerous or not.
Samie told her fans that she is planning on sharing her journey because she wants to help others and it's "so important we all know about these things".
