Disinfecting surfaces and items around your home is likely a part of everyone's weekly routine, but if we told you that there was a cheaper and easier way to make a 'powerful disinfectant' with just three ingredients, would you be intrigued to find out more? Disinfectant sprays can be seriously expensive, and if you can cut the cost whilst cleaning your home, you can save some serious money in the long run.

And Lynsey Crombie, in partnership with Dr. Beckmann, has shared the ingredients you need to disinfect your surfaces - it's seriously easy to make, and you may already have the things in your cupboards.

Lynsey, who often shares her top cleaning tips on daytime show This Morning, shared the way to make the 'powerful disinfectant' and all you need to do is fill half a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol, 25ml of white vinegar, and 25 drops of your favourite essential oils.

She said: "Choose ones with antibacterial properties such as citrus, tea tree or eucalyptus, but DO NOT use this on marble or granite surfaces", reports the Express.

She also explicitly said that you should not follow TikTok cleaning hacks unless you've been instructed that it's safe to do by a cleaning professional.

White vinegar can be found in most supermarkets, and can be purchased from Tesco for as little as 29p. It's useful for cleaning because it's acidic, which means it can dissolve dirt, grime, and grease easily.

Rubbing alcohol can be purchased for under £3 at Amazon, and whilst essential oils are a little more expensive, they last a long time - tea tree can be bought for £3.20 at Amazon, and it'll make the spray smell fresh and clean.
