Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has admitted he’s been left curious by the “situation” at the San Francisco 49ers.
The Vikings QB is getting ready for yet another season in the NFL, and his sixth year in Minneapolis. Cousins, a four-time Pro-Bowler, was one of three quarterbacks to star in the new Netflix documentary.
The docuseries entitled ‘Quarterback’ stars Cousins, Kansas City Chiefs ’ Patrick Mahomes and Philadelphia Eagles’ Marcus Mariota. The series documents their efforts over the course of the 2022 NFL season.
In a promotional video posted by Netflix, all three QBs were asked to name the quarterback who they feel is the most underrated in the league. Mahomes and Mariota argued why they both thought that Cousins deserved that particular honour.
Cousins said, with a laugh: “I don’t know how to follow that up. Anytime you can be complimented by your peers, it beats any compliment coming from anybody else in your life. So that means a lot.”

When giving his own answer, Cousins explained why he thinks Jimmy Garoppolo is possibly deserving of the title of most underrated quarterback. Garoppolo will be playing his football for the Las Vegas Raiders this season.
Garoppolo had been with the 49ers for six seasons prior to leaving the franchise at the end of last season The 31-year-old was signed by the Raiders on a three-year contract, and is likely to be the starting QB for the AFC West franchise going into the 2023 NFL regular season.
The Raiders open their NFL season with the Week One opener against AFC West rivals the Denver Broncos on September 10.

But Cousins also admitted his confusion over the “situation” with Garoppolo and the 49ers before the QB’s exit for Las Vegas.
“I kind of always scratch my head at the Jimmy Garoppolo situation in San Francisco, because I know how hard it is to win in this league, and it seems like every time he goes out there, they win,” said Cousins.
"And then they’re moving on from him or trying to draft somebody and trade up. And I’m thinking it’s pretty hard to win double digit games in this league, and that’s all they seem to do when he plays.
“So obviously, I don’t know all that goes on there, but if he does it again with the Raiders, at some point, this guy is just a winner.”
