EastEnders fans 'solve' who's helping Jo - and it's 'a past character'

EastEnders fans think they've worked out who Jo Cotton is working with to target her ex-husband Rocky and his new bride Kathy Beale. Viewers believe they know who Jo was on the phone to in a cryptic scene on Thursday.

As she continued to blackmail them over bigamy claims, Jo was put in her place by Kathy's son Ben Mitchell. Jo headed to Walford earlier this year and refused to sign the divorce papers, after hearing Rocky planned to marry Kathy.

She then claimed to have signed them, so Rocky and Kathy got on with planning their big day. But before the ceremony on Monday, Rocky was alarmed to see Jo again, with her claiming she only pretended to sign the papers.

He didn't believe her and married Kathy, only for the pair to find out Jo was telling the truth and Rocky was now a bigamist. Since then, Jo has been blackmailing them and she demanded thousands of pounds for her to actually sign the papers.

When Ben found out he was quick to threaten her, using husband Callum Highway's police badge to claim he was a detective. Jo then fled and Rocky managed to get the signed papers off her, meaning she had no way of threatening them anymore.

But as she left, Jo was seen taking a mystery phone call where she appeared to confirm her plan wasn't over. She claimed she had what she wanted and there was more to come. She was heard telling the mystery person: "I'm on my way back. I got what I wanted and there is plenty more for the taking."

Viewers watching the scenes unfold were quick to predict she was working with a past character to bring down Rocky. Some suggested Dotty Cotton could be out to get the money she believes is hers after being left out of her grandmother Dot Cotton's will.

One fan tweeted: "I wonder who Jo is talking to the other end of the phone…me being a wild speculator and theorising thinks it could be Dotty, trying to get money after being left out of Dot’s will." Another agreed: "is jo on the phone to peter beale? or dotty? or someone else?" A third added: "Has Dotty sent Jo to get money from her Dad?!?"

Others predicted Rocky was secretly scamming Kathy and that Jo was helping him. A tweet read: "Is Rocky and Jo working together to con Kathy?" A second fan agreed: "I think so!" while a third fan said: "So, is Rocky and Jo working together to scam Kathy?"
