A swimmer has tragically died after needing medical attention while in the sea.
The man was pronounced dead this morning after struggling in the water in Hythe, Kent.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 8am. Despite their best efforts the man died at the scene.
The man has not yet been identified.
South East Cost Ambulance Service said: "South East Coast Ambulance Service was called at approximately 7.50am today (18 July) to West Parade, Hythe, to reports of a person who had been in the water in need of medical attention.

"Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by emergency service colleagues and the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service.
"Sadly, despite the best effort of all those involved, including those who helped prior to our arrival, the person died at the scene."
Kent Police confirmed they attended in assistance of the medical incident.
