Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are said to be ready to call time on their marriage just two years after sharing their vows.

The Thank U Next singer, 30, and the real estate agent, 27, tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony at Ariana's home in 2021, but their relationship is said to have hit the rocks in recent months.

And a relationship expert has described how the couple have simply became the "latest relationship casualty" to not make it out of the "honeymoon phase".

Relationship expert Kate Mansfield told the Mirror: "The first six months to two years of a relationship are what is generally known as the ‘honeymoon period’. This describes the period of time after making a commitment when we are likely to be in the throes of romance, heightened love, lust, and to some extent, enjoying a fantasy version of our partner.

"Once we get to the two-year mark, the reality of who our partner really is starts to become apparent, and we need to be able to step into a more mature version of love. For many people, this is problematic, and especially nowadays with the explosion of dating apps, so much choice, and a short attention span due to social media saturation. We are seeing more than ever that people have an inability to love in a mature way, or to really give a relationship a chance, in terms of accepting the reality of their partners flaws and imperfections."

Opening up further about the singer's potential problems, Kate explained how Ariana's decision to leave her wedding band off during an appearance at Wimbledon was sure to get people talking.

"I think most people would start assuming that it is a sign that things have not worked out very well in her marriage," Kate added. "Celebrities in general experience more extreme versions of all relationship challenges, because of the public eye aspect."

And while Kate added she hoped the pair could rekindle their romance, she continued: "It looks likely that it’s yet another relationship casualty where it hasn’t been able to survive past the excitement stage."

It comes as rumours of the pair's divorce intensify. One source has claimed to Page Six Dalton's January trip to London was a bid to save their faltering marriage.

The source told the publication: "It didn't work out." The couple are said to be friends still. "They came to the decision together," the insider continued.

"They were having problems before January, but they want to remain best friends."
