A woman was petrified she was going to lose her eyesight after getting a dodgy set of eyelash extensions which caused her excruciating pain and left her eye looking rather gross.

She said her eyes felt "so sore" the day after getting her eyelashes done before things took a turn for the worse. Posting a video of her experience to TikTok, she said: "Got my lashes done and it went horrible."

Showing off her latest set immediately after the treatment she said the first day they "were so sore and stiff". The following day, her eyes were red and inflamed.

She continued to describe her experience saying: "The pain was unbearable; gunk, aches, swelling, itchy, puffiness all occurred."

The TikTok user went on to say: "I'll never try these again, very bad memory. It felt like I was going blind."

Her video racked up hundreds of thousands of likes, with people quick to give their opinion in the comments section. While some blamed the eyelash technician who did the extensions, others suggested it wasn't their fault.

One user said: "That's why it is important to make sure the person who does it make sure they know what they are doing on the first day should have took them off."

However, another said: "This happened to me bad. It's not the person who did thems fault. It's the lash glue. [People] are allergic to it. It's pure chemicals on your lash line."

Another agreed and said: "[You're] allergic to the glue. It goes away after you wash your eyes with water."

One person speculated: "It looks like the placement of the lashes were too close to your eyelid... and also looks like you might have had an allergic reaction!"

Then a self-professed lash technician chimed in. She said: "Hey I'm a lash tech! If [you] have a reaction like this go back and have them removed! It can cause permanent damage to your eyes."

The lash tech went on to say: "They are also way too long. It's too heavy for your natural lash which probably added to your pain. I'm so sorry that happened to [you]!"

Another user said: "So this happened to me too. It's not the glue, if the fans are too big or they used too much glue it will literally rub against the inside of your eye."

Other users agreed that the size may have been the issue. One user said: "[You're] not supposed to get them that big the first time", while another commented: "Poor thing they're too heavy and too long [based] on your eye shape and heaviness of the last your eyes can't hold them then they get irritated."

One user even warned of their own experience saying: "I just went to hospital today after I had mine done. They damaged half of my eyeball."
