Kerry Katona has hit out against rumours Holly Willoughby is set to present Strictly Come Dancing in the future.

The mum-of-five, 42, explains her reasons for not wanting to see the This Morning presenter swap ITV for the BBC amid speculation.

The Atomic Kitten singer, who was recently trolled as she shared a health update, also reveals she's keen for a stint on the dancefloor herself one day.

Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to our screens in just a few months time – possibly with a new presenter at the helm.

Insiders claim the BBC has been "plotting for some time" to get Holly on the show, but Kerry is less than impressed at the rumoured plan.

Discussing rumours attached to Holly, Kerry reveals she isn't keen to see the This Morning presenter move over to the BBC to present the broadcaster's flagship reality TV show. It comes as reports claim the BBC is eyeing up the mum-of-three following a tough few months for Holly.

Following Phil's This Morning departure and the scandal attached to his ITV exit, it's reported the BBC now see it as the perfect time to swoop in and tempt Holly with a move over to their channel. Holly already has a strong relationship with the state-funded broadcaster after hosting Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof last year.

But Kerry doesn't think Holly presenting Strictly Come Dancing is such a good idea. Writing in her new! magazine column, the former Queen of the Jungle says: "I don’t think that’s fair on current presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. They’re great at it. They can’t be swapped out! I think Holly would be great as a contestant instead. I’d be up for doing Strictly, too. Maybe one day!"

Last month it was reported the BBC are currently looking at how they can give Holly a role on Strictly and convince her to make the move over from ITV. In addition to hosting This Morning, Holly also presenter Dancing On Ice on ITV, although it's unclear if she will return to the reality TV show next year without her old co-host Phil, who quit ITV earlier this year.

"BBC bosses want her and they have been plotting for some time to get her for their big shows," a source told the MailOnline. "They know how popular she is, but it also has to be the right programme. Recently there has been talk around the BBC that Strictly would be a way to lure her over."

The BBC and Holly are yet to comment on the rumours. It's thought Holly wants to remain as a host on Dancing On Ice as "she loves the programme and has a long history" with it. Jane McDonald is one of the names rumoured to be in line to replace Phil as Holly's co-host when the series returns next year.
