New Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou has spoken to Harry Kane about how to "improve" Spurs as speculation mounts over the striker's future.
The former Celtic boss took his first training sessions at Spurs last week, before his squad jetted off for their pre-season Asia-Pacific tour. Tottenham will play London rivals West Ham in Perth, Australia, on Tuesday - before further matches in Thailand and Singapore.
And their star man boarded the plane, despite his future being far from resolved amid interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. Spurs have thus far rejected two bids, despite honorary president Uli Hoeness publicly claiming the England captain is keen on a move to the German giants.
"Harry Kane has clearly signalled in all conversations that his decision stands - and if he keeps to his word, then we'll get him, because then Tottenham will have to buckle," Hoeness told Sport1. "Kane wants to play internationally and luckily for us Tottenham will not be active internationally next year."
Addressing the media down under, Postecoglou admitted he had held face-to-face talks with Kane, but stopped short of revealing any talks on a possible transfer: “I had a good chat with Harry," he said at the WACA Ground in Perth. “Nothing earth-shattering as people are seeking. Just a good chat, introduced myself, spoke about the club and where we can improve.”

Upon arriving in Australia, Kane was seen in conversation with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy. The club record goalscorer has been offered a new contract that proposes an increase on his current £200,000-a-week deal, which is due to expire in 12 months' time.

And despite Bayern emerging as the front runners, Tottenham are now braced for offers from elsewhere.
PSG are reportedly stepping up their interest, and are in a position to offer the 29-year-old a stronger financial package than Bayern. Any potential bid is likely to hinge on the saga surrounding Kylian Mbappe though, with the French champions facing a similar conundrum to Spurs over whether they sell the forward to Real Madrid this summer, or lose him for free later down the line.
Links to Manchester United have cooled though, with Erik ten Hag instead turning his focus to Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund. United are expected to re-enter the race though if Kane does not sign a new deal this summer.
