A schoolgirl who was attacked on the school bus on her way home from school has vowed to donate some of the money raised to her to an anti-bullying charity.

Amelia-Paige, 12, was filmed by a group of schoolchildren who egged on her attacker when she was beaten by another girl, with police investigating the alleged incident.

In the wake of the incident two mums decided to set up a GoFundMe page to show “not all people are bad”. They had initially hoped to raise around £100 so she had a happy summer break, but the total so far stands at more than £3,900.

In the wake of the sweet gesture, Amelia says she would use some of the money to spend the day with her family and donate some to charities which help those affected by bullying, reported LancsLive.

Ginnie Nolan, who has two youngsters in Year 8, who set up the fundraiser, said: “I saw the video of the little girl getting beat up and like everyone else I was disgusted with it. She is a tiny little dot of a girl.

"I thought, she is probably feeling very low and like everyone is against her, and I wanted to do something to show her that the majority of people are decent.

“At that age you are already going through a lot and it broke my heart."

Ginnie wrote on the fundraiser: “Bullying causes all sorts of mental health issues and having that many children gang up and record it will really have a negative effect on the poor kid, so let's get together and show her she is not alone and we care.

“We would like to get enough to give her a good day or 2 in the six weeks holiday and send her on a outing with her mom who is heart broken watching a video of her baby being attacked while no one helped her.

“All money raised by this go fund me will go directly to Tyler parsons (Amelia’s mom) who is aware of this go fund me.

“We do not know each other but like everyone else myself and Joanne see the video and felt we could help make that little girls holiday a bit better.”

Bosses at Blackburn-based Star Academies, which runs the Valley Leadership Academy, described the incident as "distressing and unacceptable".

A spokesman for Star Academies told LancsLive: "A number of our children have been affected by a distressing and unacceptable incident on a public bus.

“We are liaising with the relevant public authorities, conducting our own rigorous investigation and supporting children and parents.

“We have high expectations of every pupil and do not tolerate poor behaviour in our school. “Whilst this incident took place on a public bus service, we expect our pupils to behave appropriately in and out of school and the overwhelming majority of our pupils demonstrate exemplary character at all times.“
