Ex-waitress slams customers who order 'a steak' - as there's a catch
A former waitress has slammed customers who simply order a steak when eating out at a restaurant. The woman, who used to work at a Texas Roadhouse branch in America, has taken to TikTok to share her biggest bugbears of working in the service industry, saying clueless customers were one of the worst parts of the job.
During her three-minute video, she called out customers who simply order a 'steak' from the iconic steak restaurant - not bothering to specify which one. She said: "[It would annoy me as a server when] people would respond with 'a steak' when I ask them what they want to order... which f***ing steak? If I get to pick, you're going to get the T-bone that's like $35."
The woman, known as @flabigailfartin online, also called out customers who would respond 'like a child' when asked whether they want mushrooms or onions on their steak. Mocking her customers, she added: "Ew, mushrooms and onions. Ew, no way."
She couldn't stand it when customers would respond with 'done' when she asked how they want their steak to be cooked. "[It would annoy me as a server when people tell me they] don't like seeing the blood all over your plate - grow up," she added.
Her video, which has more than 289,000 views, has divided opinions on TikTok, with some users praising her for calling out 'annoying customers', while others say she needs to 'check her attitude'. One user said: "Maybe your attitude is the reason you're no longer employed there."

Another user added: "You mocking the mushroom and onion men caught me off guard." A third user said: "I vote for rage! I love these and the fact that you have that much rage makes me feel not alone!" One more user added: "The mushrooms and onions comment is the most accurate thing I've ever heard."
The woman followed up her video with another called 'rapid fire of things I loved about being a server' to lighten the mood. She said: "Since I gave you guys so much rage, let me give you just a shred of positivity. The comments said that I'm a ray of sunshine and I actually am, I such a kind person.
"All sarcasm aside, there are things that are positive about being a server. The videos are just satirical and they're talking about negative aspects of the job, which there are plenty. But clearly I wouldn't have done it for six years if I didn't enjoy myself.
"[I loved] people who looked at the menu before they come in and have a general idea of what they want. People who pay when they're done eating and then leave promptly after they're done eating." She says people who stacked their dishes up at the end of the table earnt a special place in her heart as well as those who simply say please and thank you.
