Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has given an honest reaction to not being named in a teammates list of top five QBs in the NFL.
Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson was recently speaking to journalist Danilo Lacalle, where he was asked for his top five quarterbacks in the league. Somewhat surprisingly, there was no place on the list for Cousins.
At number one Jefferson chose Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, ahead of New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was chosen at three, followed by Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles at four and Josh Allen from the Buffalo Bills at five.
Cousins was asked about not featuring in Jefferson’s list on Thursday while appearing on KFAN Minneapolis. And it seemed that the Vikings quarterback was not phased by being omitted from the list, and have an honest response to hearing the claims.
“I didn’t even see it,” said Cousins. “This is the first time hearing about it. As a competitor, yeah, you always want that. People have to be honest and share what they think and I’m not going to tell somebody what they need to think and hopefully in 2024 I’ll be on his list. We’ll see what we can do this year.”

Cousins has been in the NFL since 2012 where he was drafted in the fourth round with the 102nd overall pick by the Washington Commanders. He signed for the Vikings in 2018 as a free agent and is preparing to enter his sixth year in Minneapolis.
The Vikings are one of 12 teams yet to win a Super Bowl, but will be optimistic of their chances going into the 2023 regular season. Cousins helped the team finish 13-4 and first in the NFC North, but lost to the New York Giants in the Wild Card round.

He threw for 4,547 passing yards at 65.9 percent with 29 touchdown passes.
Jefferson has also become a star for the Vikings, with the receiver widely regarded as among the best in his position in the NFL. The 24-year-old amassed 1,809 receiving yards with 128 receptions and eight touchdowns.
There will be three pre-season games for the Vikings against the Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and the Tennessee Titans. That will be in preparation of the Week One opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 10.
