Gillian Taylforth has insisted Nish Panesar will get his "comeuppance" on EastEnders - way before Christmas.

The actress, who plays Kathy Beale on the BBC One soap, is not a fan of Nish. He arrived in the Square from prison, where he had been serving his sentence for his crimes. Keen to reunite with his wife Suki, she was not so keen but was forced into continuing with their romance to keep her secret affair with Eve from her husband.

In scenes on Thursday evening, Rocky ended up gambling his honeymoon in a poker game against Nish and when Nish came out on top, the pair were suddenly left without the dream honeymoon Kathy had always wanted.

That storyline is running alongside a huge Christmas storyline, which will see one male die in shocking scenes on Christmas Day, just as Sharon plans to tie the knot. Who that man is and what happened to him, we don't know. All we do know is the Six main matriarchs of Walford - Linda Carter, Stacey Slater, Denise Fox, Sharon Watts, Suki Panesar and Kathy - will all somehow be involved.

Whilst many are convinced Nish could die at Christmas, Gillian insists we won't have to wait that long to see the villain get his "comeuppance" as karma strikes way before the festive season for the Panesar patriarch.

She revealed: "I don't think it could be linked to [Christmas]. But karma is a great thing. And he does get a comeuppance for that, anyway, for stealing my honeymoon. Don't worry about that. I can't say much more than that."

Navin Chowdhry - who plays Nish - previously revealed to The Mirror how fans can 'work out' the clues before the victim is revealed.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: "I am aware that Nish is the number one contender to die at Christmas. I think the main clue is to follow the cufflinks. There's some stuff we filmed recently about the cufflinks so look out for that and follow the cufflinks."

He was seemingly referring to the scene we've just seen on screen, where Nish handed over the cufflinks to an unsuspecting someone else. During the episode, Rocky was thrown a stag do as he prepared to marry Kathy. He decided to have a game of poker with Nish and Jack, with the stakes getting increasingly higher as Nish handed over his cufflinks as part of the pot of winnings.

Rocky eventually won the round, which meant he had won the cufflinks. However, Rocky handed them over to Jack, who now has them. Whoever ends up with them on Christmas Day is likely to be the one who dies.
