Bayern Munich are growing in confidence they will be able to seal a deal for Harry Kane.

The German giants are ready to launch a third bid for the England captain, who turns 30 later this month after Bayern's transfer committee meets on Tuesday to discuss their next step. It follows Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen holding a breakfast meeting with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy on Thursday.

Bayern are refusing to give up on their pursuit of Kane despite having had a £60m-plus offer turned down, while another £70m proposal was not enough to tempt Spurs. Now they are likely to go back with a figure closer to £80m and they believe that may tempt Levy to sell rather than lose Kane for free when his contract expires next summer.

Kane will not push to leave or agitate and that is key, so Tottenham will not be bullied into selling. He is keeping all three options - to leave Spurs now, to depart on a free transfer in a year's time, or to sign a new contract - on the table.

‌Tottenham have remained adamant that they will not sell to a Premier League rival and Manchester United have backed off, while Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain were also given no encouragement. However, Bayern are going nowhere and now the talks with Levy will only strengthen their belief that they can get a deal done.

Kane reported back for pre-season training with Tottenham on Wednesday. The squad is flying out to Perth to begin their summer tour of Australia and the Far East, and the prolific striker is committed to the trip despite the uncertainty over his future.

Tottenham want Kane to stay and have put a new contract offer - worth in excess of £300,000-a-week - on the table to try and persuade him to stay beyond this season. It's believed the player has held positive talks with Ange Postecoglou.

The new Spurs boss said earlier this week: "He [Kane] is one of the premier strikers in the world and I want him involved. My conversation with him will be about how we can make this club successful, and I’ve got no doubts that what he wants as well."

Levy is ready to run the risk of allowing Kane to go into the final year of his contract, but if the money continues to grow then Bayern believe it could tempt Spurs to change their stance.

Kane is desperate to win trophies. The Spurs star is still waiting to win the first major honour of his career after losing two Carabao Cup finals, the 2019 Champions League final and the Euro 2020 final. He also finished second in the Premier League six years ago.

Silverware would be a virtual guarantee at Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga champions, but Kane also knows that his contract value would sky rocket as a free agent and he could choose where he wants to go. But Tottenham also believe that breaking the Premier League goal record and loyalty to Spurs are reasons why he may yet stay.

Postecoglou added: "What I want is to introduce myself to Harry and give him my vision of the football club. And get a sense from him on what he thinks the club needs to do to be successful and walk out on that training pitch and try and make it happen."
