If your pots and plates are in need of a little TLC, then you're in luck. A cleaning guru has revealed the 'magic' method she uses to leave dirty crockery looking as good as new with minimal effort. Courtesy of popular Facebook group, Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips, the trick comes with the backing of several members - who found it works in other areas around the home, as well.
'What is this wonder product?' I hear you asking. 'Is it very expensive or hard to source?' In fact, it's one of the humblest items going: a denture-cleaning tablet. Recommended by one savvy cleaner, the Facebook user explained: "I was sorting out some items to take to a charity shop. I always wash things first. I found a bowl that used to have a plant pot in it.
"This area has a lot of limescale in the water, as you can see from the bowl. A denture-cleaning tablet removed it. I don't wear dentures, but also use the tablets to soak net curtains in before washing. Very useful."
Her post was accompanied by 'before' and 'after' photos of her results. In the first, brown stains circle most of the bowl, but in the second, not a single visible trace remains.
Amazed, one commenter replied: "Wow very impressed." Another praised: "Great job." Meanwhile, several people shared their own success stories, with some suggesting you should employ the tip beyond the kitchen. "I use these all the time to get stains out of cups and dishes I even put one down the loo before I go to bed at night," read one such reply.

A second echoed "I drop them down the toilet and leave overnight also keeps the bowl clean." And a third claimed: "A plumber got me to put one in the water tank of the toilet. All the gunk from the gels I'd used gone. Just drop it in at bedtime and when you flush in the morning it's gone." Someone else asked: "Will it work on glass vases as I've water marks formed from over the years?"
The post's author replied: "Yes it does. I had a long vase with a narrow base. I couldn't clean the limescale out of it. I put in a denture tablet and water. The limescale went. I didn't time it, but just looked the next day and the magic had happened."
