A group of former EastEnders stars have reunited in style to celebrate a best friend's countryside wedding.

Fans of the BBC soap have been left delighted as some of its former stars from Watford's Albert Square dressed up in their finery to celebrate their pal's nuptials and shared snapshots from the festivities.

Former cast member Shaheen Jafargholi, who played Shakil Kazemi from 2016 to 2018, shared a wedding selfie as he posed with a stunning bouquet of flowers against a rolling countryside backdrop. "besties got married," actor Shaheen penned in the caption alongside a string of photos of the big day.

Since leaving EastEnders after a dramatic knife crime storyline, which saw Shakil brutally murdered, Shaheen went on to another BBC drama when he landed a role in Casualty as Marty Kirkby.

In another snap a group of wedding guests posed together including familiar faces Jasmine Armfield and Tilly Keeper, who both wore stunning dresses for the occasion.

Jasmine, who played Sonia and Martin Fowler's daughter Bex in the BBC soap up until 2020, looked to be having the best day with her former cast mates. After leaving Albert Square to go travelling and escape the pressure of being offered a place at Oxford, Jasmine also popped up in Casualty for a small appearance like her pal Shaheen.

Tilly Keeper, who EastEnders fans will best know as Louise Mitchell, also left the BBC soap in 2020 after she and mother Lisa Fowler feared they would go down for the murder of Louise's former lover Keanu Taylor – who is actually alive and recently returned to Albert Square and is now engaged to Sharon Watts.

Since leaving EastEnders after four years of soapland, Tilly's gone on to land bigger roles including a part in the fourth season of Netflix hit drama You. In the fourth season which saw the romance thriller set in London, Tilly played fan-favourite Lady Phoebe.

Outside of the stunning wedding celebrations, EastEnders fans are sure they've worked out what's really happened with Louise Mitchell, after her mother Lisa Fowler returned to Walford earlier this week – with Louise's daughter Peggy in tow.

Lisa and Louise were last seen escaping when a guilty Louise believed she had played a part in her former lover Keanu's 'death' after he cheated on her with Sharon, who was Louise's stepmum at the time. Struggling to cope, Lisa and Louise left with Peggy Jr in tow, with no knowledge that Keanu was actually still alive and had managed to get away.

Whilst Lisa has returned to Albert Square, Louise has not but has been mentioned by dad Phil in an awkward confrontation with his former wife. Fans have been left questioning what really happened to Louise, with theories including that she's been kidnapped or that mum Lisa has taken Louise's daughter without her permission.

Lucy Benjamin, who plays Lisa, previously told The Mirror of her return: "I can’t wait to return as Lisa after leaving for Portugal with Louise and Peggy in 2019. No doubt, in true Lisa fashion, she will bring plenty of dramaa for many of the characters, which is why playing her is a delight."
