Love Island has dumped its second pair of Islanders in a savage twist.

At the end of last night's episode, Catherine and Elom were booted out of the show, leaving the Islanders completely stunned by the news. The public had been asked to vote who they thought were the most compatible couples, with the results being revealed tonight. Being in last place, Catherine and Elom were immediately sent home whilst Leah and Montel, Kady and Ouzy and Jess and Sammy received the lowest votes and were also at risk of being booted off the show.

Tonight, the Islanders had to say goodbye to Leah Taylor and Montel McKenzie as the pair were booted off the show.

Montel is hopeful the pair can keep their connection now they've left the show, as he shared: "We have full intentions of making things work and we will try to see each other as much as we can. Being outside is obviously different to being in the Villa but we have been pretty plain sailing. Our communication level is high and we’ll be able to get through anything that comes in front of us."

Leah added: "As soon as I met Montel, I felt a connection right away which took me by surprise but he was so easy to get to know right from the offset. I feel really lucky that he came into the Villa because it’s been really natural and genuine the entire time."

She referenced their "Casa situation" but described it as a "bump in the road"

"We had a little Casa situation to navigate but you can never build anything without going through challenges. It was a bump in the road which we managed to overcome. I’m excited about what’s next for me and Montel, us leaving the Villa doesn’t really change anything," she added, "Casa was a tricky one because although we both went into it very much open, for me the issue wasn’t what happened, it was the way in which it was handled which made me question our connection."

When Catherine and Elom left the show last night, the pair seemed keen to keep things going between them outside the villa, with Elom convinced the couple's connection will only blossom and flourish the more time they spend together.

"Now we’ve left the Villa together, I think our connection is only going to flourish and get stronger. Catherine is exactly what I’ve been looking for and I feel like we’ve been getting closer every single day," he said.

Whilst Catherine added: "Elom and I have something special so I’m excited to see where it goes. I was massively shocked [by the news they had to leave the show]. It wasn't something I saw coming at all.

"When I heard our names I was shocked because I know what me and Elom have is genuine and we are so compatible."

Catherine is also sad to be leaving her friends in the villa, and is excited to see them again soon. She added: "I’m sad to be leaving everyone, I’ve genuinely made friends for life in the Villa who I’m going to miss so much but I’m happy to be leaving with Elom. Not everyone gets the chance to find someone that they have a connection with, so I can’t wait to continue what we have on the outside. The girls have become my sisters so it was emotional saying goodbye to them but I’ve told them it’s not goodbye, but see you later."
