Timothee Chalamet's locks have won recognition

Timothee Chalamet might be winning recognition with his acting skills, but it's his hair that's taking the glory today.

The Wonka star, 27, has been branded the man with the best hairstyle in an inaugural awards ceremony. Timothee's flowing locks were voted the best in the business, with Princess of Wales Kate Middleton also being honoured.

The American-French actor, who has become famous for his artfully tousled locks, was voted victorious by a panel of experts, bagging himself the EsteNove Hairstyle of the Year award. Kate, meanwhile, topped the female category.

Other prominent male celebrities recognised for their attractive hairstyles in the first annual competition included singer Harry Styles, American rapper A$AP Rocky, Grey’s Anatomy actor Patrick Dempsey and Canadian singer The Weeknd.

Filling up the female category was American actresses Julianne Moore and Zendaya, Little Mermaid actress and singer Halle Bailey and model Hailey Bieber.

To make their decision, judges had to select from a variety of types of hairstyles which had 100 celebrities make the "cut". In the end, they opted for Timothee's look of longer layers, kept shaggy around the hairline and ears, and longer on top so that it falls into the eyes as their overall winner.

The Princess of Wales has also become celebrated for her signature glossy blow-dried waves, while Zendaya has a butterfly bob which is heavily layered, with a feathery style.

Speaking about the award offering, Batuhan Kızılcan, founder of hair transplant clinic EsteNove, which sponsored the awards, said: "The positive effect of a beautiful head of hair on people in their social and professional life is indisputable. An attractive hairstyle is an important tool to impress people. When a beautiful face is complemented with an attractive hairstyle, facial harmony is achieved."

Batuhan continued: "Our winners have truly iconic hairstyles. Timothée Chalamet is the envy of both men and women for his hairstyle. It is ridiculously good and central to his good looks. He typically wears it medium-length to long with a soft side-parting pushed back from his face."
