Chaotic scene as would-be kidnappers try to snatch teen from mall
Local authorities are searching for two men that they say tried to kidnap a 14-year-old girl out of a mall in Pennsylvania.
Abington Police were notified about the incident around 7 pm on Wednesday, July 12, and immediately dispatched officers, but the two accused men managed to drive away from the area by the time authorities arrived.
It was a chaotic scene at Willow Grove Park Mall, after a 14-year-old girl made a loud escape from a man who tried to grab her.
The victim told authorities that she was walking in a stairwell when she was approached by a man who introduced himself as "Alex" and stood in the doorway. She informed him of her age and tried to walk past him, but he grabbed her by the arm and started to drag her through the mall.

Apparently, several eyewitnesses and bystanders then intervened, preventing the man from going after the child.

The Abington Police Department published a report and description on their Facebook page: "The 14-year-old female victim stated that she was descending the escalator from Second Level to First Level, when she was met at the bottom by an adult male. This male identified himself as “Alex” and asked the juvenile to walk with him, extending his arm, as if to escort her."

As the juvenile stepped away, the male grabbed her arm, placed it in his arm and restrained her, as he led her across the mall.
"After some time, the juvenile was able to escape from the male’s grasp, screamed and fled from the male. Several bystanders witnessed this altercation and stepped in to prevent the male from approaching the juvenile."
"Further investigation revealed that this male appeared to be working in concert with a second male. These males left the mall immediately after the juvenile fled. These males are seen entering a dark gray Dodge/Chrysler minivan or “crossover” type vehicle, possibly a Dodge Journey."

It's estimated he is between 25-40 years of age and was last seen wearing a white shirt with a large dark letter “C” on the back, light-coloured pants with a dark stripe, dark shoes with a red marking on the inside toe of each shoe and light-coloured laces. This male also wore a unique leather bracelet with a braided metal knot on his left wrist.
Authorities are referring to the second man as Actor 2. The accomplice is described as a black male with a medium complexion and thick facial hair. He was last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt, blue jean shorts, white and black sneakers, with his sunglasses tucked into his t-shirt collar. The man was also wearing a lanyard around his neck and had keys hanging from his front right pocket.
