Wrexham's Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have posted joint statements after their documentary following the football club was nominated for six Emmy awards.
'Welcome to Wrexham', shown on Disney Plus and FX, aired it's first season last year, which followed the journey of how the two north Americans came to purchase the club before documenting their first full season in the 2021/22 campaign.
Although it ended in disappointment with Wrexham being knocked out of the playoffs by Grimsby Town, the show became an instant hit. It was renewed for a second season this past year, which will show the Dragons winning the National League and gaining promotion back to the EFL for the first time since 2008.
The statement which was posted on both Reynolds and McElhenney's social pages emotionally thanked the fans of the club after their show was recognised with Emmy nominations.
The statement read: "The story of Wrexham has resonated with millions of people because you don't have to be Welsh or a football fan to be moved by this town.

"We are so grateful for today's 6 Emmy Nominations and are continuously honored the people of Wrexham allow us to tell their tale. Diolch! Cymru am byth!"
The Emmy Awards are seen as the biggest and most coveted awards ceremony of its kind for the American TV industry - with McElhenney's hit TV show Always Sunny in Philadelphia surprisingly only being nominated for three Emmy Awards since its beginning in 2005.

The Dragons finished with 111 points, just ahead of Notts County on 107 points, to get back into the Football League where they will compete in League Two next season.
Reynolds and McElhenney attended the championship winning parade in Wrexham before McElhenney joined the jetting players to Las Vegas to continue the promotion celebrations.
On the show, Reynolds said: "I’m so grateful for the experiences of that first big season, even with the fact that the club didn’t get promoted, because it laid the groundwork for one of the most exciting seasons, I think, in National League football history. I don’t think I’ve ever felt anxiety ratcheted up like [at the end of the 2022/23 season].
"It wasn’t enjoyable for me. It was hell going into the Notts County game this year, actual hell. The fact that the team managed to pull it out in the last second was so perfectly Wrexham."
