This custom Starfield Xbox Series X is perfect for the Starfield controller
A user on Reddit has built a custom Starfield Xbox Series X console that has us sitting here asking why Microsoft hasn't made one itself.
While Microsoft has made a custom Starfield version of the Xbox Wireless Controller, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles are shockingly not getting a makeover in celebration of what is sure to be the console's biggest game so far. Clearly I'm not the only person to feel this way, as a user on Reddit has taken things into their own hands and fashioned their own custom Starfield Xbox Series X in celebration of Bethesda 's next epic RPG.
The Starfield Xbox Series X takes the huge black monolith of a console and makes it more space-appropriate with a white finish, and two side panels on either side labelled as exhaust ports. These side panels are then adorned with a sticker featuring the logo of the games Constellation faction. While this custom Starfield Xbox looks lovely as-is, Reddit user wolfykurt isn't done yet, as they plan on adding detail to the front of the console including "some painted text and some elements of red, grey and bronze coloring" to fit with the style of the Starfield Xbox controller.
Fly me to the moon
While it makes sense that this Starfield Xbox Series X won't be widely available since it's a fan creation, I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to dangle a Starfield console in front of us. Much like the recently shown off Barbie Xbox – and the earlier ones featuring the likes of SpongeBob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Sonic The Hedgehog – Microsoft's custom Xbox lineup this generation has consisted or ones unavailable to the general public that act as competition prizes, or the Halo Infinite Xbox Series X that's the single special edition that has been on sale thus far.
Considering Starfield is undoubtedly the biggest game from Xbox this year (and arguably the biggest exclusive since the Xbox 360 years) it seems like a total missed opportunity to not do a special edition Starfield Xbox console – especially with how nice that controller looks.
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thing
Granted, it's probably to do with the sheer difficulty people had actually getting the consoles in the first place considering the PS5 has had a similarly lacking number of special consoles – with game bundles just being the game and a standard console – and instead opting for different coloured side plates. But we'll see if Microsoft has anything up its sleeve as get closer to the Starfield launch.
