If you've ever wondered where those pesky yellow stains come from on your bedding, you can thank sweat for them. Urea, a by-product chemical found in sweat, breaks down over time and turns into ammonia, causing the dreaded stains.
Thankfully, there's ways to combat these unsightly stains - and one cleaning lover thinks they've found the easiest method.
A fan of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch has shared how she removes the yellow marks from her pillows, taking to the popular Facebook page Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It to reveal her findings.
After trying many different pillow protectors to fight the stains, the woman wrote: "My husband's head sweat is so bad at night that I'm constantly buying new pillows.
"I've tried every pillow protector going and it still wouldn't stop his pillows from staining.

"So today, I decided to see if I could clean them while keeping their shape and omg, I'm amazed at the results, they just look like new."
Sharing her results to the group, she showed a before and after of the yellowy stained pillows - and the bedding looked good as new.
"I soaked them for two hours in my bath with cold water and about a cup full of Ace For Whites. It's game-changing," she added.

After soaking in Ace Of Whites, she then puts the pillows on a spin with a tennis ball (Getty Images/iStockphoto)"I then wrung them out and put them on a spin and rinse cycle in the washer (I can't get the pillows in the washer when they are dry) and I added a capful of softener just to remove any bleach smell."
"I did put them in the dryer for 10 minutes with a tennis ball and then literally hung them out to finish drying.
"Honestly I can't believe how much dirt came out of them and how nice and white they now look while still keeping their shape."
